Journals

It's quite a routine for journals review during everyday research activities. Actually you might find new idea or approach by reading other people's work. Hence the access to journal articles is very vital part of our research work. I remember when I was medical student, internet was in his infancy period so that we really need to looking up an article by searching the bound journals inside library. It's more convenient nowaday as we could access the article by internet. Nevertheless, I do encounter difficulty today as I find that we could not access the most updated articles in journals (embargo for one year). It's really an inconvenience to our researchers. I do hope the administrator in university library could kindly do something to facilitate their students/researchers.

Frustration

I didn't have the feeling of frustration for many years since graduation. As a clinician, you would probably very well accepted that your patient may deteriorate or even pass away even with best possible treatment. However, you will not accept of "no result" or "weired result" with your scientific experiments. Although it has not been very long time since I started my laboratory studying, I could feel frustration again and again after failure in different experiments. I knew that it's common for everybody to go through failure before knowing the way of success but it's still very difficult for me to accept.

Cleland Wildlife Park

After a month of busy work and learning basic stuff, I did have a chance to relax today. My family and my colleague's family (altogether 8 people) traveled to Cleland Wildlife Park today. It's about 25 minutes drive from adelaide city and it's very convenient place with plenty carpark. After we parked our cars, we went to visitor centre and staff working in centre was very friendly and efficient. Then we took a short walk (~1 hour walk) and my kids enjoyed feeding with kangaroos and other animals. We had picnic outside visitor centre and we shared among our food including sushi from my colleagues. Afterward, we had pictures with koala and chatted with carer for a while. We did have a wonderful time and we left the park at around 4 pm today. My daughters want to come back again very soon.
